Strengthening the National Search Commission
Félix Arturo Medina, Deputy Minister of Human Rights, Population, and Migration, detailed the functions of the National Search Commission (CNB), which include:
• Searching for missing persons in coordination with local and federal authorities.
• Managing the National Registry of Disappeared and Missing Persons (RNPDNO).
• Supervising the application of the Standardized Search Protocol.
Medina explained that the CNB will be strengthened by hiring more personnel, incorporating advanced technology, and improving coordination with local prosecutors’ offices, the Digital Transformation and Telecommunications Agency, and other bodies. In addition, the interconnection of various databases will make it possible to obtain information in real time and strengthen collaboration with the Executive Commission for Attention to Victims.

Disinformation campaign in social networks
Miguel Ángel Elorza, director of Infodemia, exposed the existence of a fake news campaign that seeks to manipulate the discussion concerning the recently discovered Teuchitlán extermination center. The use of 87,866 bot accounts was identified, which generated 973,500 publications in the X social network.
In addition, it was discovered that nearly half of the messages with hashtags such as #NarcoPresidenteAMLO and #NarcoPresidentaClaudia came from outside Mexico, specifically from countries such as Colombia and Spain. The cost of this campaign amounted to 20 million pesos (US$1.01 million), involving 147,200 bot accounts and generating almost 1.37 million shares and comments.
President Claudia Sheinbaum questioned the origin of this “dirty war” on social networks and said that it is unfounded, indicating that “they’re not going to find anything”.

Attention to repatriated migrants
Finally, Sheinbaum affirmed that there is confidence concerning the return of Mexicans repatriated from the United States. She also reported that the Ministry of Foreign Relations sent a diplomatic note to the U.S. government to prevent the transfer of Mexican migrants to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
