President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that public sector decisions are based on scientific evidence and highlighted that the proposed measures allow for a reduction in dependence on imported gas from the United States from 75% to 50%.

«If there is no saltwater, there will be no exploitation of water»
The President reiterated that the committee recommended not using freshwater, recycling at least 75% of the water used, protecting aquifers, and ensuring transparency, public consultation, and environmental viability before any project is launched.

Audience Rights Continue in Public Consultation
Sheinbaum reported that a definitive proposal will be presented next week. The President denied that the proposal represents censorship and affirmed that «the Morning Press Conference is the most transparent exercise that can exist.» She reiterated that media outlets should have a code of ethics and an audience ombudsman.

Security Strengthened to Reactivate Avocado Exports
The Government is working with producers in Michoacán, the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the United States to re-establish avocado exports, following the temporary withdrawal of U.S. inspectors. The participation of the National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety, and Quality in inspection tasks will be evaluated.
