Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: AMLO pointed to the Reuters opinion poll, which indicates that Mexicans' trust in the media has fallen 25% in eight years. “This means that (the media) wasn’t able to understand the new political readjustments underway; they continue with the journalism of the past. They do not report objectively, they do not tell the truth, and they think that the people are stupid.”; AMLO highlighted Joe Biden’s achievements as president, saying that “the US economy is doing well and overcame the pandemic crisis and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. In addition, the strategy of seeking self-sufficiency in North America so as not to depend so much on Asia was consolidated.”; the President criticized the irresponsible stigmatization of Mexican immigrants in the United States, where they reinvest $265 billion dollars in the US economy; López Obrador supported president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum in her response to Donald Trump's disqualification of Marcelo Ebrard. The president expressed his admiration for his former minister of foreign relations. “Let’s be clear that Mexicans, with Claudia, are going to insist on a good neighbor policy,” he said.

Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: AMLO charged that the Judicial Branch is already distributing trust fund monies so that when the judicial reform is approved, they will no longer have resources to turn in. The President urged the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Audit Office to review this situation; AMLO denounced journalist Tim Golden, who published a new report accusing him of links with drug trafficking, even though the Pulitzer Prize winner indicated that in his new investigation there is no evidence against the President; the President announced that he will send a letter to Donald Trump concerning migration and the importance of maintaining economic integration with the USMCA; Pemex and the Federal Electricity Commission are at their best moment and not in crisis as the opposition is trying to make people believe. The state-owned productive companies have been rescued during the current presidential administration with a record investment; Pemex director Octavio Romero Oropeza reported that the López Obrador administration reversed the declining trend in crude oil production, increasing output from slightly more than 1.64 million barrels of oil per day to almost 1.88 million in 2023, with the number expected to reach 1.70 million barrels this year.

Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: AMLO reiterated that at the end of his term he will retire from public and political life and that Claudia Sheinbaum) is a guarantee for the continuity of the transformation in Mexico; the President said that with Sheinbaum as president, there will be a new opportunity to analyze the relationship between Mexico and Spain. Currently there is a pause in relations due to the misunderstanding that arose as a result of AMLO’s request that Spain ask for forgiveness for the abuses inflicted on the indigenous peoples of Mexico during the country’s colonization and colonial period; Minister of the Navy Rafael Ojeda reported that operations were carried out in Ensenada, Baja California, against pharmacies that offered products containing fentanyl. As a result of the operations, the pharmacies, close to 800, were closed; the President emphasized that the Interoceanic Corridor is a global project that connects the Pacific and Atlantic oceans to promote maritime trade. It is currently comprised of four ports with a capacity of 300,000 shipping containers per year, with number projected to increase to 1.4 million. The project will promote 12 Development for Wellbeing Poles, seven of which have already been auctioned.

Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: AMLO responded to those who question the results of the June 2 elections with an article by economist Gerardo Esquive, who wrote that "while in 12 years of opposition coalition governments, the number of poor people rose at a rate of 100,000 per month, in the first four years of this administration, poverty declined by 100,000 people per month. After knowing this, do you still find the election results illogical or hard to explain? Will you continue to denounce the voters for their decision?"; Minister of the Interior Luisa María Alcalde explained that the results of the June 2 elections determine that the Morena-PT-PVEM coalition is entitled to 373 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, which means a qualified majority that will allow it to make changes to the Constitution; despite the numerous attempts at disinformation, AMLO highlighted that the people of Mexico have demonstrated that there is no media power that can place itself above the will of the people; it is not true that there was a 123% increase in fuel theft in the first five years of López Obrador's administration, compared to the same period of Peña Nieto's government. What is known as huachicol has decreased 94.2% since 2019, which means savings of more than US$19 billion; it is false that Mexico is in third place worldwide in youth unemployment. According to the OECD, Mexico is the third place for the lowest youth unemployment at 5.2%, only behind Germany and Japan.

Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: AMLO called on the two U.S. presidential candidates to sign a commitment to regulate the sale of weapons in their country, as it would address the underlying problem and Mexico would also benefit in seeing a reduction in the illegal trafficking of weapons that fall into the hands of organized crime; the President made it clear that the Mexican Government was not involved in the early release in the United States of former Tamaulipas Governor Tomás Yarrington; the head of the Federal Commission for the Protection Against Health Risks (Cofepris), Alejandro Svarch, exposed a corruption network that tried to establish an artificial monopoly in the testing of medicines, particularly generic pharmaceuticals; the IMSS Bienestar program has 515 second-level hospitals and 50 third-level hospitals, in which health-care is guaranteed with specialized medical personnel. The La Clínica es Nuestra program is 98.6% completed in terms of the delivery of funds to improve the infrastructure of 11,808 health-care centers located in 27 states.
