Google acusa a Uber de robo de tecnología

Regeneración, 24 de febrero del 2017.-Waymo (ex-Google Car), la sociedad del gigante de internet estadounidense Alphabet dedicada a los automóviles sin chofer, demandó este jueves a Uber y su filial de camiones autónomos Otto, a los que acusa de haber robado algunas de sus tecnologías.

“Otto y Uber tomaron la propiedad intelectual de Waymo con el fin de ahorrarse el riesgo, el tiempo y los gastos vinculados al desarrollo independiente de sus propias tecnologías”, afirma la demanda presentada ante un tribunal de San Francisco.

“En resumidas cuentas, este robo calculado les produjo más de medio millardo de dólares en salarios de Otto y le permitió a Uber reanimar un programa bloqueado, todo ellos a costa de Waymo”, precisa la demanda.

Waymo acusa a Otto y a Uber de robo de secreto industrial y violación de patente, y pide un proceso ante un jurado con el fin de prohibirles la utilización de sus tecnologías, así como indemnizaciones por un monto aun no precisado.
