SUMMARY – MORNING PRESIDENTIAL PRESS CONFERENCE – WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2023

The National Strategy for the Search for Missing Persons has as its principles not to eliminate any files and to carry out activities aimed at searching for and locating individuals for each case. As of August 22, there are 110,964 people reported as missing, of whom 16,681 have been geographically pinpointed and 17,843 located. But there were also 24,090 case files without sufficient data to identify the missing person; 36,022 records with such identification, but without indications for how to proceed with the search, and 12,377 confirmed reports of missing persons.

Minister of the Interior Luisa María Alcalde called on the population to provide sufficient information on missing persons, through Locatel at 55 56 58 11 11 or at cnbreportadesaparecidos.segob.gob.mx.

President López Obrador said that in his next book he will demonstrate how honesty is very important and how the key is to not allow corruption. «When there is no corruption, a considerable amount of funds are freed up for development,» he said.
