Como todos sabemos, el Tribunal Electoral decidió validar la elección presidencial a pesar de las evidentes violaciones a la Constitución y a las Leyes.
Muy poco tengo que decir sobre lo torcido del proceso electoral porque casi todo es de dominio público. Si acaso subrayo, aunque tampoco es novedad, que se violó el artículo 41 de la Constitución que establece que las elecciones deben ser libres y auténticas.
El distintivo de esta contienda fue el uso del dinero a raudales para comprar millones de votos. En los hechos, el candidato del PRI rebasó por mucho, los topes de gastos de campaña que establece la ley y, aunque se demostró el uso de dinero de procedencia ilícita, prevaleció el cinismo y la impunidad.
Tampoco hubo equidad en la actuación de los medios de comunicación. Por el contrario, la mayoría de los periódicos, la radio y, sobre todo, la televisión, en especial Televisa y Milenio, se convirtieron en los principales patrocinadores de Peña Nieto.
Ante estas violaciones, las autoridades electorales siempre se hicieron de la vista gorda. Los Consejeros del IFE y los Magistrados del TRIFE demostraron que son personajes sin convicciones, acomodaticios, seleccionados a modo para formar parte del engranaje del régimen antidemocrático que predomina.
Se podrá replicar que esto ya lo sabíamos y que a pesar de ello, decidimos participar en la contienda. Sin embargo, puedo argumentar que siempre debe intentarse la transformación por la vía pacífica y electoral. Respeto otros puntos de vista, pero no considero a la violencia como alternativa.
Pienso que produce más sufrimiento y se terminan imponiendo con mayor facilidad quienes no tienen la razón, pero cuentan con la fuerza para reprimir. La violencia en vez de destruir al régimen autoritario lo perpetúa.
Al mismo tiempo, mantengo la convicción de que, aún en condiciones adversas, enfrentando a los poderes más siniestros, se pueden lograr cambios profundos siempre y cuando exista una voluntad colectiva dispuesta a ejercer a plenitud sus derechos y a no permitir ningún régimen de opresión. Sostengo que cuando el pueblo decide ser dueño y constructor de su propio destino, no hay nada ni nadie que pueda impedirlo.
Pero este proceso virtuoso de toma de conciencia y participación ciudadana, no es fácil de lograr. Lleva tiempo, requiere de mucho trabajo educativo con la gente y de predicar con el ejemplo; exige temple, convicciones y perseverancia.
Basta con recordar la historia: Hidalgo proclamó la abolición de la esclavitud y ese anhelo de justicia se hizo realidad un siglo después. Las reformas liberales se consumaron luego de 30 años de cruentas luchas internas y de invasiones extranjeras. En 1910, Francisco I. Madero convocó al pueblo a la Revolución para derrocar a la dictadura porfirista con el lema del Sufragio Efectivo y, aún cuando se avanzó en la atención de demandas sociales, todavía no hay democracia en México.
De modo que no es sencillo lograr una transformación pacífica y profunda como la que nosotros queremos y necesita el país. Hay que enfrentar intereses creados muy poderosos que se oponen de manera rotunda a perder sus privilegios.
Los defensores del régimen de corrupción imperante, como lo vimos en las recientes elecciones, utilizan todo su poderío: sus medios de comunicación, sus relaciones de complicidad y, sobre todo, cuantiosos recursos económicos. A esa prepotencia hay que agregar, y eso es lo que más les ayuda, el atraso político y la pobreza extrema que se padece en el país.
Tenemos que aceptar que todavía hay muchos mexicanos, de todas las clases sociales, susceptibles al engaño y a la manipulación. Están, por ejemplo, y lo digo de manera respetuosa, quienes en las pasadas elecciones decidieron no apoyarnos porque creen en las vulgaridades y calumnias que difunden de nosotros los voceros de los dueños de los medios de información.
Sin embargo, no fue la desorientación lo que más influyó para impedir el cambio de régimen, en esta ocasión, lo determinante fue el uso del dinero para traficar con la pobreza de la gente.
Ya hemos visto cómo Peña Nieto, con sus patrocinadores y cómplices, obtuvieron la mayoría de los votos en el medio rural y en las colonias marginadas del país.
No se trata de juzgar a quienes por necesidad venden su voto. La perversidad es de aquellos que, valiéndose del hambre y de la miseria, compran la voluntad de los desposeídos.
Esta es, sin duda, la mayor inmoralidad que se registró durante la elección presidencial y, al mismo tiempo, este es el gran desafío que tenemos por delante, porque si no hacemos nada para contrarrestar esta práctica inhumana y corrupta, nunca habrá una auténtica democracia en nuestro país.
Permitir a los poderosos que, encima de empobrecer al pueblo, se beneficien electoralmente de sus carencias, es aceptar que se instaure un sistema de esclavitud moderna en el que, entre más miserable y debilitado se mantenga al pueblo, menos esfuerzos serán necesarios para oprimirlo. En otras palabras, tolerar este retroceso significa dejar que los pobres se conviertan en peones y que haya amos que les compren su libertad.
Enfrentar esta infamia es una razón más para seguir adelante. Aquí es oportuno recordar que luchamos por ideales, no por cargos. Por más que nos haya dolido este nuevo fraude, no debe haber motivo para el desaliento y la rendición. Por el contrario, debemos sentirnos orgullosos de tener la encomienda de regenerar la vida pública y lograr el renacimiento moral de México.
Además, hay que tomar en cuenta que, en poco tiempo, hemos avanzado mucho. Nuestro movimiento ha contribuido a cambiar la mentalidad de amplios sectores del pueblo de México. Hemos puesto al desnudo al actual régimen con sus formas de control y manipulación. Se ha hecho evidente que el PRI y el PAN representan lo mismo. Que no hay diferencia entre Elba Esther Gordillo, Carlos Salinas, Ernesto Zedillo, Vicente Fox, Diego Fernández de Cevallos, Felipe Calderón y Enrique Peña Nieto. Ahora se sabe más sobre los que verdaderamente mandan y hay más claridad sobre su proceder y avaricia.
Esto ha sido, estimo, la mayor aportación social y política de nuestro movimiento. Tengamos presente que no se puede cambiar lo que no se conoce y lo que bien se comprende, difícilmente se olvida.
Fruto de este trabajo de concientización es el despertar de muchos ciudadanos de las clases medias, que en las pasadas elecciones por primera vez nos dieron su respaldo. Aquí aprovecho para mandarles el mensaje de que nunca traicionaremos su confianza.
Somos testigos, también, del surgimiento del movimiento estudiantil de nuestro tiempo, el #YoSoy132.
Estos jóvenes han sabido estar a la altura de las circunstancias, han levantado el orgullo de muchos otros y les han dado poderosas razones para luchar por el derecho a la información, la justicia y por la democracia. Es un movimiento limpio, auténtico, independiente y creativo. Al grado que podemos proclamar que ya se tiene relevo generacional.
Abro un paréntesis para reconocer que hubo ciudadanos de todos los sectores que nos ayudaron a convencer a empresarios y a integrantes de clases medias, que debido a las campañas de desprestigio, mantenían una mala imagen de nosotros. Solo menciono, por no poder hablar de todos, a Alfonso Romo, Demián Bichir, León Larregui, Epigmenio Ibarra, Luis Mandoki, Manuel Clouthier, Dolores Heredia, Tomás López Rocha, Paco Ignacio Taibo, Lorenzo Rojas Guzmán y María Antonieta Laso.
También va a quedar para la historia el gabinete que presentamos, por la honestidad y experiencia de las personas que propusimos: Marcelo Ebrard, Rogelio Ramírez de la O, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, Javier Jiménez Espriú, Fernando Turner, Adolfo Hellmund López, María Luisa Albores, René Drucker Colín, Víctor Suárez Carrera, Sergio Rodríguez Cuevas, José Agustín Ortiz Pinchetti, Genaro Góngora Pimentel, Miguel Torruco Marqués, Raquel Sosa Elízaga, Bertha Elena Luján Uranga, Bernardo Bátiz Vázquez, Manuel Mondragón y Kalb, Elena Poniatowska Amor, Jorge Eduardo Navarrete López y el ingeniero Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Solórzano.
En contraste, ya estamos viendo que en el gobierno de Peña Nieto ocuparán los puestos más altos, los hombres y las mujeres del más bajo nivel moral.
Pero, sobre todo, agradezco a los cerca de 16 millones de mexicanos, que expresaron con su voto su firme decisión de abolir el actual régimen de corrupción, injusticias y privilegios. Estoy seguro que, aún con los resultados oficiales, están satisfechos por haber actuado con dignidad y decoro, y no formar parte del mundo de la sumisión y del conservadurismo.
A todos les digo que nadie se desanime, que no debemos decir adiós a la esperanza. Tengo elementos para afirmar que el actual régimen está en su fase terminal, ya caducó; carece de consenso. La mayoría de los mexicanos no lo respalda, aunque muchos no lo expresen abiertamente. Baste decir que a pesar de tratarse del supuesto regreso del PRI a Los Pinos, la gente no festejó, al contrario, hay duelo nacional. El pueblo tiene un instinto certero y sabe que por desgracia nada bueno se puede esperar, que continuará el empobrecimiento, la corrupción, la inseguridad y la violencia.
A los hombres del régimen solo les queda el dinero y el aparato de manipulación y de fuerza. Pero el dinero no lo es todo, no es Dios, deja de dominar en la medida en que la gente va tomando conciencia. Ahí está el ejemplo de millones de pobres que, a pesar de sus necesidades, no vendieron su voto.
Asimismo, el control que ejercen los potentados a través de los medios de comunicación es, cada vez, menos determinante. El caso Peña Nieto es un ejemplo; pensaron que bastaba con la publicidad, con lo mediático y no les resultó, tuvieron que recurrir a la compra de voluntades. Y, en cuanto al uso de la fuerza, es cosa de no caer en ninguna provocación y no olvidar lo que dijo Talleyrand a Napoleón: “Las bayonetas sirven para todo, menos para sentarse en ellas”.
De modo que, ánimo, es poco lo que falta. Uno, dos, tres, seis años, una década, son como un suspiro, representan un abrir y cerrar de ojos en la historia nacional. Quienes luchamos por una transformación que servirá a varias generaciones, debemos aprender a medir el tiempo de un modo distinto. No nos debe preocupar tanto, cuanto dure consumar la obra de transformación. Lo importante es no dejar de caminar hacia ese ideal. Si tenemos la fuerza necesaria para resistir, veremos el triunfo de nuestra causa y, en cualquier circunstancia, habremos ayudado mucho a quienes vienen detrás de nosotros para lograr el cambio anhelado.
Amigas y amigos:
Por estar concentrado en la defensa de nuestro juicio de inconformidad para demandar la invalidez de la elección presidencial, no respondimos a las interrogantes en cuanto al futuro de nuestro movimiento, pero ahora es el momento de hablar sobre lo que sigue. Empiezo con lo obvio: diciendo que lucharemos hasta alcanzar el objetivo superior de transformar a México.
Con mucha claridad, hace unos días expresé mi rechazo al fallo del Tribunal Electoral que declaró válida la elección presidencial. Dije que nunca vamos a jugar el papel de paleros del régimen antidemocrático. Por el contrario, lucharemos siempre por abolirlo.
Considero que haríamos mal en darle vuelta a la página, como si nada hubiese pasado. Sería tanto como prestarnos para dejar cancelada, en los hechos, la vía democrática.
En consecuencia, reitero, no voy a reconocer a Peña Nieto como presidente legítimo de México.
Esta postura forma parte, como aquí se ha dicho, del plan de desobediencia civil, que incluye el compromiso de seguir luchando bajo el principio de la no violencia, sin caer en provocaciones, sin afectar a terceros y, sobre todo, de oponernos por medios pacíficos a la aplicación de las llamadas reformas estructurales como la laboral, la fiscal, la energética y todas aquellas medidas que se tomen en contra de los intereses del pueblo y de la nación.
También debe quedar de manifiesto que vamos a proteger a los jóvenes, a los luchadores sociales y a cualquier ciudadano u organización que padezca del acoso del régimen autoritario. No permitiremos la violación de los derechos individuales y colectivos de los mexicanos.
Vamos a seguir trabajando en el fortalecimiento del Movimiento Regeneración Nacional, MORENA. El día de hoy, se ha dado a conocer la convocatoria para elegir a los órganos de dirección en los estados, así como al Consejo y al Comité Ejecutivo Nacional de MORENA.
Además, en los congresos distritales que se celebrarán a partir del día 12 de septiembre, entre todos decidiremos, de manera democrática, si MORENA continúa como asociación civil o se constituye en partido político. En lo que a mí respecta, voy a participar el 15 de septiembre como delegado efectivo en la asamblea donde me corresponde, en Copilco, de esta ciudad. Invito a todos a que sean parte de los 125 mil delegados que participaremos en los 300 congresos distritales que se llevarán a cabo en todo el país. También informo que asistiré del 10 de octubre al 11 de noviembre a los 32 congresos estatales y, desde luego, estaremos presentes en el congreso nacional que celebraremos el 19 y 20 de noviembre.
De modo que lo primero será consolidar la organización interna de MORENA, manteniendo el carácter de movimiento amplio, plural e incluyente. Es decir, MORENA continuará siendo un espacio abierto a todos los ciudadanos, corrientes de pensamiento y clases sociales.
MORENA seguirá sembrando ideas y haciendo conciencia. Fortaleciendo valores culturales, morales y espirituales. En esta nueva etapa se pondrá énfasis en la formación política de los jóvenes. Se mantendrá el periódico Regeneración y se continuarán usando las redes sociales para difundir nuestro proyecto, fijar posiciones y contrarrestar la propaganda de los medios de información al servicio del régimen.
Con MORENA defenderemos a los que sufren injusticias, protegeremos a los débiles y cuidaremos el patrimonio nacional, herencia de las futuras generaciones. Y hay algo en especial que evitaremos con toda nuestra fuerza: la privatización del petróleo. Adelanto que nos opondremos a cualquier reforma al artículo 27 Constitucional, para entregar el petróleo a particulares, nacionales y extranjeros.
Amigas y amigos:
En lo que a mí corresponde, en esta nueva etapa de mi vida, voy a dedicar toda mi imaginación y trabajo a la causa de la transformación de México. Lo haré desde el espacio que representa MORENA, por esta razón me separaré de los partidos del movimiento progresista.
No se trata de una ruptura, me despido en los mejores términos. Me separo de los partidos progresistas con mi más profundo agradecimiento a sus dirigentes y militantes.
Agradezco todo el apoyo que recibí de militantes y dirigentes del partido Movimiento Ciudadano, antes Convergencia.
Estoy obligado a decir que en los momentos más difíciles, siempre contamos con el respaldo decidido de militantes y dirigentes del Partido del Trabajo, del PT, en particular, de su dirigente, Alberto Anaya.
Agradezco, en especial, a los militantes y dirigentes del PRD, partido en el que me tocó participar desde su fundación, del cual fui dirigente y en el que milité durante estos últimos 23 años. Tengo en el PRD muchos amigos, que en todo momento me dieron su confianza y respaldo y, en correspondencia, considero que les di lo mejor de mí y los representé con entrega y dignidad. Estamos a mano y en paz.
Estoy seguro que esta decisión ayudará a renovar y a fortalecer al movimiento progresista. Además, siempre que se trate de la defensa del pueblo, del patrimonio nacional y de luchar por la transformación del país, estaremos dispuestos a caminar juntos y llegaremos a acuerdos para actuar como una sola organización.
Amigas y amigos:
Iniciamos una nueva etapa. Vamos a recomenzar porque así lo exigen las circunstancias. Hagámoslo con el mismo entusiasmo de siempre. Sigamos despertando y organizando a los ciudadanos. Que no nos angustie y detenga el qué dirán nuestros adversarios. Lo más importante es sentirnos bien con nosotros mismos, con nuestras conciencias y con el prójimo.
Comparto con ustedes mi experiencia, que es semejante a la de muchos otros luchadores sociales. Llevamos años batallando, trabajando con intensidad, avanzando y recibiendo reveses. Hemos aprendido que, aun en condiciones adversas, con el predominio del régimen antidemocrático, se va avanzando en la creación de conciencia, en la organización del pueblo y en la conquista de espacios políticos.
Una prueba de ello, por solo poner un ejemplo, es el triunfo del movimiento progresista en Tabasco. Es memorable que este año a pesar del caudal de dinero utilizado para la compra de votos y otras trampas, el pueblo de mi tierra y de mi agua dijo basta y se pudo ganar la gubernatura del estado, luego de 80 años ininterrumpidos de gobiernos priistas.
Esta experiencia es, repito, una prueba de que se pueden ir obteniendo victorias parciales, al mismo tiempo que se van creando las condiciones para alcanzar el hermoso ideal de ver triunfar la justicia sobre el poder.
La fórmula es luchar, resistir, no claudicar, avanzar, caer y levantarse, recomenzar y así, hasta la victoria final.
Todo depende de no perder la fe o desmoralizarse, de comprender que los procesos de transformación son tardados pero sublimes; hacernos a la idea de asumirlos como forma de vida porque hasta en lo personal producen dicha y grandeza. Es decir, podemos ser felices si dedicamos nuestra existencia a procurar el bienestar y la felicidad de otros. Además, la vida es demasiado corta para desperdiciarla en cosas que no valen la pena.
Amigas y amigos:
Créanme que estoy consciente del coraje, el desánimo, la impotencia y malestares del alma que sienten millones de mexicanos luego de este nuevo fraude electoral. Pero debemos superar todas estas tristezas y decepciones, pensando que nada es en vano, hasta en las peores circunstancias, nuestra noble labor significa limpiar el camino a las futuras generaciones, a nuestros hijos, a nuestros nietos, es promover la aurora, la llegada de una nueva vida, de una patria nueva, del reino de la justicia y del humanismo.
Y a los dirigentes sociales y políticos de nuestro movimiento, les recuerdo que debemos guiarnos por valores más elevados que nuestros propios intereses personales. Aunque a algunos les pueda parecer una utopía, nada se puede hacer sin ideales.
Cuando pensemos que no se puede, recordemos que Hidalgo enseñó que “el pueblo que quiere ser libre lo será, que el poder de los reyes es demasiado débil cuando gobiernan contra la voluntad de los pueblos”.
Y cuando no tengamos lo suficientemente claro los motivos de nuestra lucha, no olvidemos las palabras de Morelos, cuando les dijo a sus allegados: “Quiero que hagamos la declaración de que no hay otra nobleza que la de la virtud, el saber, el patriotismo y la caridad; que todos somos iguales, pues del mismo origen procedemos; que no haya privilegios ni abolengos.
Que todo el que se queje con justicia tenga un tribunal que lo escuche, lo ampare y lo defienda contra el fuerte y el arbitrario.
Que como la buena ley es superior a todo hombre, las que dicte nuestro Congreso deben de ser tales a que obliguen a constancia y patriotismo, moderen la opulencia y la indigencia, y de tal suerte se aumente el jornal del pobre, que mejore sus costumbres, alejando la ignorancia, la rapiña y el hurto.
Que se eduque a los hijos del labrador y del barretero, como a los del más rico hacendado y dueño de minas”.
Y cuando necesitemos fortalecer nuestras convicciones, emulemos a Juárez cuando decía “que el enemigo nos venza o nos robe, si tal es nuestro destino; pero nosotros no debemos legalizar un atentado entregándole voluntariamente lo que nos exige por la fuerza”.
Y cuando nos falte idealismo, pensemos en ese extraordinario luchador social, Ricardo Flores Magón, que decía: “Cuando muera, mis amigos quizá escriban en mi tumba: ‘aquí yace un soñador’, y mis enemigos: ‘aquí yace un loco’. Pero no habrá nadie que se atreva a estampar esta inscripción: ‘aquí yace un cobarde y un traidor a sus ideas’”.

As we all know, the “Tribunal Electoral” (Electoral Court) decided to validate the presidential election although when is an obvious violation to the Constitution and the laws.
I do not have too much to say about what is crooked in the electoral process because almost everything is in public domain. I pronounce, although it is not a new statement, that the Article 41 of the Constitution was violated, which stipulates that the elections must be free and authentic.
The hallmark of this contest was the use of money in abundance to buy millions of votes. The facts were that the PRI candidate exceeded the spending limits for the campaign based in what the law establishes and, although it was demonstrated that the use of the money came from illicit sources, prevailing the cynicism and impunity.
Neither was any equity in the role of the media. On the other hand, the majority of the newspapers, radio and, specially, TV, in particular “Televisa” and “Milenio”, became the principal sponsors of Peña Nieto.
Before these violations, the electoral authorities wanted to make us believe that they didn’t saw anything. The Trustees of the “IFE” and the Judges of the “TRIFE” showed us that they are characters without conviction, easy-going, selected to be part of the chain of the predominant undemocratic regime.
We may replicate that this we already knew it and in spite of this, we decided to participate in the contest. However, I can argue that always we should always attempt the transformation through the pacific and electoral route. I respect other points of view, but I don’t believe in violence as an alternative.
I think that causes more suffering and more easily they end up by being imposed those who do not have the reason, but have the strength to suppress. The violence rather than destroy the authoritarian regime it perpetuates it.
At the same time, I stand with the conviction that, even in adverse conditions, coming face to face with the most sinister powers, we can always achieve deep changes and when there is a collective will, we are willing to perform to the fullest their rights and not to allow any oppressive regime. I argue that when people decide to be the owner and the builder of your own destiny, there is nothing or no one can prevent it.
But this virtuous process of awareness and citizen participation is not easy to achieve. It takes time, it requires lot of educational work with people and leading by example; it requires temple, belief and perseverance.
Who we are for this cause, we must know that is relatively easy to get into the government to maintain the domineering regime, but the victory of the justice over the power implies fatigue and political confrontation. The processes of structural changes are usually slow and complicated, but they are indispensable and glorious.
It is enough to remember the history: Hidalgo proclaimed the abolition of slavery and the eagerness for justice became a reality after one century. The liberal reforms were consummated after 30 years of bloody civil fights and foreign invasions. In 1910, Francisco I. Madero called the people to the revolution to overthrow the President Porfirio Diaz dictatorship with the lemma of “Sufragio Efectivo” (Effective Suffrage), even when progress was made in attention of social demands, still not democracy in Mexico.
So it is not that easy to find a peaceful and deep transformation as we want and as the country needs. We have to face very powerful vested interests that are opposed in a resounding way to lose its privileges.
The supporters of the prevailing corruption regime, as we saw in the recent elections, use all their power: their media, their complicity relations and, especially, the vast economic resources. To this arrogance we have to add, that helps them more, the political backwardness and the extreme poverty that our country is suffering.
We have to accept that there are still many Mexicans, of all social classes, susceptible to the deception and manipulation. Are, for example, and I say this in a respectful manner, who in the past elections they decided to not support us because they still believe in the vulgarities and slander that the spokesmen of the owners of the media spread about us.
However, the disorientation was not the most influenced to prevent the change of regime, on this moment; the determining factor was the use of the money to carry the poverty of the people.
We’ve already seen how Peña Nieto, with his sponsors and accomplices, won the majority of the votes in the rural areas and in the marginalized colonies of the country.
It does not try to judge those who need to sell their vote. The evil deed is of those who, using hunger and misery, buy the will of the underprivileged.
This is, without doubt, the greatest immorality that was recorded during the presidential election and, at the same time, this is a big challenge that we have ahead, because if we do nothing to resist this inhuman and corrupt practice, there will never be an authentic democracy in our country.
To allow the powerful over impoverish our people, get an electoral benefit from our economic lacks, it’s to accept to establish a system of modern slavery in where they can maintain the people more miserable and more weaken, less effort will be necessary to press them. In other words, to tolerate this regression means to leave the poor became a laborer and that leaders will be able to buy their freedom.
Facing this disgrace is one reason more to go ahead. Here it is appropriate to recall that we are fighting for out ideals, not for job positions. Even though we have been hurt by this new fraud, there should not be a reason for discouragement and surrender. On the other hand, we should be proud to have the mission to reform the public life and achieve the moral rebirth of Mexico.
Also, it is necessary to take into consideration that, in a short time, we have come a long way. Our movement has helped to change the mentality of wide sectors of the people of Mexico. We have display the current regime with its ways of control and manipulation. It has become clear that the PRI and the PAN represents the same. This has been, I believe, the greatest social and political contribution of our movement. We should keep in mind that we cannot change what is not known and what is well understood, it is hardly forgotten.
Result of this awareness is the awakening of many citizens of the middle classes, which for the first time gave us their support in the past election. Here I take a moment to send you the message that we never betray your trust.
We are also witnesses of the emergence of the student movement of our time, “#YoSoy132”
These young people have been able to rise to the circumstances, have lifted the pride of many others and they have been given them powerful reasons to fight for the right of information, justice and democracy. It’s a clean, authentic, independent and creative movement. To the extent that we can proclaim that already have a generational change.
I open a parenthesis to acknowledge that there were citizens of all the sectors that have helped us to convince entrepreneurs and members of the middle class who, because of the discredit campaigns, maintain a bad image of us. I can only mention, because I am not able to talk about all, Alfonso Romo, Demian Bichir, Leon Larregui, Epigmenio Ibarra, Luis Mandoki Manuel Clouthier, Dolores Heredia, Tomás López Rocha, Paco Ignacio Taibo, Lorenzo Rojas Guzmán and Maria Antonieta Laso.

I say to all, nobody should be discouraged, we must not say good-bye to our hope. I have elements to affirm that the current regime it’s in the terminal phase, it expired already; it’s lack of consensus. Most of the Mexicans do not endorse it, although many people do not express it openly. Just to say, that even though it’s the supposed return of the PRI to “Los Pinos”, the people did not celebrate, on the contrary, there are in national grief. The person has an accurate instinct and knows that unfortunately nothing good can be expected, and will continue the impoverishment, the corruption, the insecurity and the violence.
To the men of the regime the only thing left is the money and the machinery of the manipulation and the force. But the money is not everything, it is not God, it stops dominating as people are becoming aware. There is the example of millions of poor who, in spite of their needs, they do not sell their vote.
Also, the control that the potentates practice through the media is, every time, less determinant. The case Peña Nieto is an example; they thought that there was enough with advertising, the media and it did not have good results, and they had to recur to buy the will of the people. And, as for as the use of the force, it’s to not fall into any provocation and never forget what Talleyrand said to Napoleon: “The bayonets serve for everything, less to sit down on them”.
So, courage, it’s a little bit more to do. One, two, three, six years, a decade, are like a sigh; represent a twinkling of an eye in the national history. Those who fought for a transformation that will serve to several generations, we must learn to measure the time in a different way. We do not need to worry so much, whatever last to consummate the work for the transformation. The important thing is not to stop walking toward that ideal. If we have the necessary strength to resist, we will see the triumph of our cause and, in any circumstance, we will have helped a lot to those who come behind us to achieve the desired change.

Being concentrated on the defense of our disagreement of the judgment to demand the presidential election invalidity, we did not answer to the questioning regarding the future of our movement, but now it is the moment to speak about what will be our next step. I start with the obvious statement: saying that we will fight up to reach our top target to transform Mexico.
Clearly, a few days ago I expressed my rejection to the Electoral Tribunal verdict, which has declared the presidential election valid. I said that we will never going to play the role of followers of the undemocratic regime. On the contrary, we will always fight to abolish it.
I think we would do bad to turn the page, as if nothing had happened. It would be as much as leave the fight, in fact, for the democratic platform.
As a result, I reaffirm, I am not going to recognize Peña Nieto as the legitimate President of Mexico.
This position is part, as I have been said, regarding the plan of civil disobedience, that includes the commitment to continue fighting under the principle of non-violence, without falling into provocations, without affecting third parties and, above all, oppose to the implementation of the structural reforms as the labor, the fiscal, the energy and all the measures to be taken against the interests of the people and the nation.
It must also be clear that we are going to protect young people, social activists and any citizen or organization suffering from harassment of the authoritarian regime. We will not allow the violation of the individual and collective rights of Mexicans.
We will continue to work on the strengthening of the national regeneration movement, “MORENA”. Today, It has been announced a notice to choose the leadership organs in the states and the National Executive Committee of “MORENA”.
In addition, in the district Congress which will be held starting on September 12, together we will decide, democratically, if “MORENA” continues as a civil association or as a political party. In what it concerns me, I will participate on September 15 as an effective delegate in the assembly where it corresponds to me in my own city, “Copilco”. I invite everyone to be part of the 125 thousand delegates that will be participating in the 300 district congresses that will take place throughout the country. I also inform that I will attend 32 state congresses from October 10 till November 11 and, we will certainly be present in the National Congress, which we will celebrate on November 19 and 20.
So the first thing will be consolidating will be the internal organization of “MORENA”, maintaining the character of the movement extensive, plural and inclusive. That is to say, “MORENA” will continue to be a space open to all citizens, different thoughts and social classes.
“MORENA” will continue spreading ideas and creating conscience, strengthening cultural, moral and spiritual values. In this new stage we will focus on the political education of the young people. We will keep the “Regeneración” Newspaper and we will continue using the social networks to spread our project, establish positions and counteract the propaganda from the media at the service of the regime.
With “MORENA” we will defend those who are suffering injustice, we will protect the weak and we’ll look after the national heritage, inheritance of future generations. And there is something in particular that we will avoid with all our strength: the privatization of petroleum. In advance we will oppose to any amendment to the 27 Article of the Constitution, regarding delivering the oil to individuals, domestic and foreign.

As far as me corresponds, in this new phase of my life, I am going to devote all my imagination and work to the cause of the transformation of Mexico. I will do it from the space that represents “MORENA”, for this reason I will separate from the parties of the progressive movement.
It is not a break, I say goodbye in the best terms. I split up of the progressive parties with my deepest gratitude to their leaders and activists.
Thank you for all the support I received from activists and leaders of the “Movimiento Ciudadano”, before “Convergencia”.
I am forced to say that in the most difficult moments, we always rely on with the support of the decided militants and leaders of the “Partido del Trabajo”, of the “PT”, in particular, of its leader, Alberto Anaya.
I am grateful, especially, to the militants and leaders of the PRD, party in which I had to participate since its foundation, in which I served during the last 23 years. I have many friends in the PRD, who at all times placed its trust and support in me and I also trusted them, I think that I gave them the best things from me and represented them with devotion and dignity. We are together and in peace.
I am sure that this decision will help to renew and strengthen the progressive movement. In addition, always when will be a concern for the safeguard of the people, national heritage and fight for the transformation of the country, we will be willing to walk together and we will come to agreements and acts as a single organization.

We started a new stage. We are going to restart because the circumstances demand it. We will do it with the same enthusiasm as always. Let’s continue awakening and organizing citizens. That this does not distress us and stop us based on what our adversaries will say. Most importantly, feel good about ourselves and our consciences with our neighbors.
I share with you my experience, which is similar to many other social fighters. We have spent years struggling, working with intensity, advancing and receiving slaps. We have learned that, even in adverse conditions, with the predominance of the undemocratic regime, we are moving ahead in the creation of awareness, in the organization of the people and in the conquest of political spaces.
A proof of this, just one example is the triumph of the progressive movement in Tabasco. It is memorable that this year, although the flow of money used for the purchasing of votes and other traps, the people of my land and of my water said enough is enough and was able to win the governorship of the state, after 80 continuous years of PRI government.
I repeat, this experience is a proof that we can get partial victories, at the same time that we are creating the conditions to achieve the beautiful ideal to see succeed Justice over the power.
The formula is to fight, to resist, not giving up, advancing, falling and not falling down, restart, and in this way, up to the final victory.
It all depends of not to lose faith or demoralize, to understand that the transformation processes are slow but at the same time are sublime; get the idea that we have to assume them as part of our life because even personally they produce joy and greatness. In addition, we can be happy if we dedicate our existence to ensure the well-being and happiness of others. In addition, life is too short to waste it on things that are not worth it.

Believe me that I am aware of the courage, the discouragement, the impotence and discontent that is felt in the soul of millions of Mexicans after this new electoral fraud. But we must overcome all these sorrows and disappointments, thinking that nothing is in vain, even in the worst circumstances, our noble work means to clear the way for future generations, our children, our grandchildren, is to promote the aurora, the arrival of a new life, a new nation, the kingdom of justice and humanism.
And to social and political leaders of our movement, I would remind you that we should be guided by higher values more than our own personal interests. Although some of them may seem like a utopia, nothing can be done without ideals.
When we think that we cannot do it, let’s remember that Hidalgo taught that “the people who want to be free will be, the power of the kings is too weak when they lead against the will of the people”.
And when the reasons for our struggle are not clear enough, let us not forget the words of Morelos, when he said to his followers: “I want to make a statement that is not other nobility more than the virtue, the knowledge, the patriotism and the charity;” We are all equal, because we come from the same source; There are no privileges or lineage.
Anyone who complains with justice should have a court site that can hear it, protect it and defend it against the stronger and the arbitrary.
That since the good law is superior to every man, which our Congress should dictate must be such that will force the steadfastness and the patriotism, will moderate the abundance and the poverty, and with luck, will increases the day’s wage of the poor people, which will improve its customs, removing the ignorance, the pillage and the robbery.
