Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: AMLO pointed out that the opposition’s dirty campaigns against him have not worked and that, on the contrary, he maintains high approval ratings (63%), which his adversaries do not enjoy; the President denounced a new act of censorship by the National Electoral Institute (INE), given that it has prevented him from discussing the corrupt oligarchy; the President explained that the repatriation program for Venezuelan nationals, which provides them with US$110 for 6 months, is aimed at protecting migrants who face many risks. "We are absolutely certain that if the people are supported in their places of origin, the migratory flows will be considerably reduced," he said.

Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: Despite the dirty war waged by the opposition, in social networks, President López Obrador has a 73% approval rating, an 11-point increase compared to December 2023; AMLO announced that the Clinic is Ours program will be created. It will involve a model similar to the School is Ours program, so that the local committees can decide how to invest the resources they will receive from the federal government to improve their health-care centers; the President granted an interview to the CBS program 60 Minutes, which will be broadcasted on Sunday, March 24 at 7:00 pm; during the current administration, over 25,000 Pemex workers have had their employment status formalized. An average of US$149 million per year have been invested in each of the country’s six refineries, just in maintenance and modernization of equipment alone.

In order to address any problems arising from this law, a legal support system has been set up in the 11 Mexican consulates in Texas; AMLO said he is awaiting the response of the parents of the missing Ayotzinapa students, to whom he proposed a meeting without their lawyers and advisors, to present them with a progress report on the investigation; due to the shortage of doctors and specialists that the country requires resulting from the previous neoliberal governments, during the current administration, the number of medical specialists has been doubled.
