It seeks to create the world's largest public health-care network with clinical-surgical teams available 24/7, especially in areas of high demand and difficult access; Claudia Sheinbaum said she will maintain a good relationship with Donald Trump in case he becomes U.S. president, highlighting Mexico's efforts to reduce migration, which has decreased by 75% at the northern border, through promoting local employment and humanitarian rescue missions.

Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: Minister of Public Education Mario Delgado reported on the progress of the Rita Cetina Gutiérrez Scholarship, intended to benefit 5.6 million basic level students; distribution of 78 billion pesos (US$3.89 billion) in Well-Being Pensions slated for November and December; it was reported that in October, more than 138,000 new jobs were created in Mexico, reaching a record of more than 22 million registered jobs, 86% of them permanent. The domestic economy experienced 1% growth; President Claudia Sheinbaum reaffirms respect and cooperation with the US ahead of the upcoming presidential election, and that the official announcement of the result will be awaited before the Mexican government makes any declaration; Sheinbaum announces actions against real estate developers throughout the country operating outside the legal framework.

Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: Government announces record purchase of medicines with focus on transparency and efficiency; Sheinbaum calls for respecting the supremacy of the Constitution and rejects destabilization attempts; 8 justices cannot be above the people: Sheinbaum accuses Supreme Court of provocation. The President affirmed that the resignation of eight justices seeks to provoke the Government into conducting impeachment proceedings, but said that she will not respond to this provocation; Sheinbaum receives 2024 Nobel Sustainability Trust medal; the President announced that she will attend the G-20 meeting in Brazil on November 19 and 20; Sheinbaum explained that the shipment of 400,000 barrels of oil to Cuba responds to humanitarian reasons and represents only a fraction of Mexico's daily production, which reaches between 1.6 and 1.8 million barrels.

Highlights of this morning’s presidential press conference include: President Claudia Sheinbaum signed a decree restoring the status of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) as public companies, following the approval of the energy reform in Congress; the President reported that as part of the republican austerity policy she will send a proposal to Congress to reduce government expenses by an additional 5%; a new constitutional reform will boost rail transportation and create 600,000 jobs; Sheinbaum criticizes Supreme Court's proposal on election of judges as the high court has no authority to legislate; in response to comments by US Ambassador Ken Salazar, who stated that the arrest of drug cartel kingpin Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada should be welcomed, Sheinbaum emphasized that “the end does not justify the means,” stressing the importance of considering how arrests are carried out. In addition, she said her government will always ask for respect and equal conditions in the country’s relationship with the United States.
